Super Antioxidant Supplement
I recently started taking a Coenzyme Q10 daily supplement. I started taking it because of its ability to keep your cells healthy. Since I started taking it, it seems to keep popping up in different books I’ve been reading. I thought I would write about its combined benefits. Since I have started taking it I have definitely noticed an increase in energy, which is not why I began taking it in the first place, but I am certainly appreciating that extra bonus.
Coenzyme Q10 is plays a big role in energy production and protects from cellular damage. It is a powerful antioxidant that helps convert food into energy. Antioxidants have the ability to fight free radicals. Free radicals are able to damage cell membranes and tamper with DNA. Free radicals contribute to the aging process, heart disease and cancer. Coenzyme can neutralize free radicals and may even reduce or prevent the damage they cause. It aids circulation, stimulates the immune system, increases tissue and cellular oxygenation, has vital anti-aging effects, and is beneficial for the cardiovascular system. It is rare in form, and is actually able to protect the cellular furnace (mitochondria) that forms energy.
Research has shown that patients with Parkinson’s have reduced levels of coenzyme Q10 in their mitochondria. Coenzyme Q10 can be found in a natural form in vegetables and oils such as: spinach, alfalfa, potatoes, soybeans, rice bran oil and wheat germ oil. It is also found in mackerel, salmon and sardines. For its many benefits, as well as how I feel when I take it, I am convinced coenzyme Q10 is a supplement that is a necessity to my daily regimen.
The amount of coenzyme Q10 present in the body begins declining at the age of 20, and it is recommended that those over fifty would greatly benefit from this supplement. I present this topic to you based on my positive experience with the supplement. I always encourage for everyone to do their own research as well as check with a physician to ensure that this supplement is right for you. Let us take a proactive approach to our health and be preventative!
